82 Year Old Marathon Runner

Boris Blucharkovski, a resident of Amigour in Ashkelon, participated in the Nike Night Run Marathon

This amazing 82 year old runner, made Aliyah 18 years ago from the Former Soviet Union, and resides in the Amigour Residential facility in Ashkelon.

Boris rises every morning, rain or sunshine, at 6:00am, and during 3 hours, runs 10 kilometers, swims in the sea and works out.

Boris tells us, “Running keeps me happy and vital…four years ago I worked as a street cleaner.” Boris’s love for running began at the age of 55 when he participated in his first marathon in the Former Soviet Union.

With over 26 trophies, Boris can be very proud of his athletic accomplishments that include running, mountain climbing and extreme sports.

For Boris, participating in the 10 kilometer Nike Night Run in Tel Aviv with thousands of runners on October 30, 2012 was truly a piece of cake.

Needless to say that Boris is a great role model for everyone and is especially appreciated by his fan club at Amigour Ashkelon.
