Stories of Survival

Dora Shapiro

Meet Dora Shapiro, born in Dnipro, Ukraine in 1936. Dora was adopted at the tender age of one month by a childless, lovely couple.
In 1941, Nazis invaded Dnipro and Dora's father was forced to join the army. The rest of her family, escaped to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Dora survived the war, married, but unfortunately did not have any children.
After making Aliyah in 1991, Dora's husband passed away and Dora was all alone.
Today, Dora is a resident in Amigour's Ein Hatchelet Sheltered Home in Netanya. Thanks to Amigour, she is in a loving home, surrounded by friends and never feels alone anymore.
